scouting report S. Bullock
10/20/17 Tacko is a New England themed Mexican restaurant located on Fillmore street in the Cow Hollow district of San Francisco. I stopped in here for a quick bite to eat after a long run into the city. The Cow Hollow district not far from the wharf and generally an up scale part of the city. Tacko with some nice outdoor decor and street appeal but is just your family friendly fast food mexican restaurant on the inside. They do have a fairly extensive menu with some unique options that will bring me back. For example, the "Elote con queso" which is fresh corn on the cob brushed with lime and dusted with cotija cheese & cayenne pepper. Interestingly, they also serve lobster rolls to go along with their New England theme. Anyway, I was looking for a quick bite to eat at this time and elected to go with the Vegetariano (vegetarian burrito). Pinto beans, monterey jack cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, cabbage & red onions all wrapped in a crispy flour tortilla. Tasty and delicious but also leaving me with a healthy feel, I give this burrito a thumbs up. Next time I visit the city, I have La Taqueria on 25th and Mission on my list. Supposedly, this is your authentic, cash only, long lines, greasy mexican taco heaven.
