Doughnut Plant has been a New York City staple for over twenty years. I frequent their Chelsea location and enjoy its unique decor of over-sized, stuffed doughnuts that hang on the walls. Their doughnuts come in a variety of flavors, shapes and sizes. They have square yeast doughnuts, tasty round cake doughnuts, and doughseeds that are cream-filled, jumbo doughnut holes. This new creation, appropriately named a Doughflower, is a rose shaped, yeast doughnut that catches your eye when you look over Doughnut Plant's many offerings. You can choose from three glazes: strawberry, rose or Italian blood orange. I chose the rose-flavored glaze and this delight was moist and fluffy and just the right amount of sweet. It pairs perfectly with coffee and will get your morning started off right. You won't be disappointed if you stop in here next time you crave a doughnut.
