Fish n chips is a dish that I often really want and am very disappointed by. It's all about how they batter the fish. I found exactly what I've always wanted from the dish at Pat Murnane's, my local Irish Pub. It's a simple dish, just beer battered (my favorite) cod fillets with a side of fries (chips). But, since it's a simple dish, it takes a lot to make it standout and really make it a bigtime bite. These fish were fried to perfection. Not too much batter, which is a common issue I have with fish n chips, but enough to give you the crispy element. It was fried so crispy that it honestly felt caramelized. It had a sweet taste to it and was exactly what the juicy cod fillet needed. This was most certainly the best fish n chips I've ever had. It was just what I wanted and cooked to perfection. Pat Murnane's makes this fish bigtime.
