Fisherman’s Outlet is a mainstay in the Los Angeles area for as long as I can remember. My particular meal in the rotation is the standard Fish and Shrimp plate at the Fisherman’s Outlet. This order contains a perfectly sized meal of deep fried fish and shrimp. This meal is plated on a bed of shoestring french fries with a side of coleslaw. It is very filling and most times I can’t even finish eating it. Your order also comes with a slice of lemon along with containers of tarter sauce and shrimp cocktail sauce. This plate is deceptively filling as the plate doesn’t look like much, but it is packed with perfectly seasoned and breaded fish and shrimp. There are many other freshly caught prepared types of fish and seafood plates to choose from. I tell myself that I will try the other dishes, but this plate brings back so many memories of eating here with my grandparents, parents and friends that I can’t help but order the timeless classic “fish and chips” style order of food. Nothing would be better than to wash it down with a cold drink and good conversation with friends in their simple outdoor eating area. Check the website for times because most days this eatery closes by 3:00pm. Catch this place early before heading out to watch your favorite sporting event or meeting in Los Angeles the next time you are in the area!
