I had heard a lot of good things about the avocado toast at Joe Van Gogh (disclaimer: I work at the coffee side) so I finally got around to trying it out. I had never really heard of this dish until recently. It just isn't a thing where I'm from that I'm aware of. I was very impressed with this dish. Toast from a local German bakery topped with a housemade guacamole (kinda, it's just avocado and onions and a few other things with some lime) and two eggs cooked over medium (just in between a runny yolk and a hard yolk). The flavors went together so well. The bread balanced out the acidity of the lime in the guac with a subtle sweetness. The eggs added in a nice savory taste to the dish that was very welcomed. Overall, this was a great breakfast dish. The freshly made guac really surprised me with how well it paired with the eggs. It was certainly a bigtime bite and something that I look forward to having again soon!
