If you're in Portland and appreciate a good bowl of ramen, I recommend trying Murakin's tonkotsu red (豚骨レッドラーメン) - it really hits the spot to satisfy your ramen cravings and seems to taste better on rainy days - but maybe that's just me. It's comprised of a flavorful, spicy red broth made with pork bone, shoyu, spinach, kikurage mushrooms, bamboo shoots, leeks, green onion, chashu pork, and a soft boiled egg - mostly traditional ingredients, nothing too outside of the box - just a solid bowl of ramen done right. This particular dish finds great balance between richness, spice and flavor. I wish I wouldn't have eaten it so fast, so I could talk more in depth about each bite 😂. This place is always busy, but they turn tables/seats fairly quickly, so don't worry about the line - it won't be too long! I also recommend the chicken karaage as well as the sui gyoza (boiled pork dumplings)
