Charlotte Magazine has handed its Best Late Night menu award to Midnight Diner three years in a row and the flagship Chicken and Waffles is a big reason why. The waffles have such a smooth texture that one has to eat them first before digging into the fried chicken later. Although not quite at the same the level of Price's Chicken Coop a few blocks away, the fried chicken is tasty enough to put into your rotation and have you wanting to come back for more after say, a Hornets game on a Saturday night :) The restaurant is open 24 hours, 7 days a week and one would think quality would suffer with those hours but that is not the case at Midnight Diner. You don't win awards consistently without knowing how to please diners 24/7, year after year.
