Based largely on the reviews on here, I've been wanting to try Kindred for awhile now. When we heard about Davidson's Christmas festival, my wife and I figured we'd check that out, then grab dinner at Kindred. The Christmas fair was great, but our dining experience at Kindred was definitely the highlight of the night. My wife and I split several dishes, all of which were very good, but I think my two favorites were this ravioli dish and smoked squash (which is in a separate post). When the ravioli dish came to the table, I wasn't 100% sure which dish it was because no pasta was visible. It was covered with a somewhat sweet sherry foam/broth, grated parmesan, and herbs. But once I dug past these delicious obscurations, I found these beautiful little pillows of pasta filled with the perfect salty ham. Each bite had a mix of nutty parm, sweet sherry broth, and salty country ham. Again, you cannot go wrong here. My wife's favorite of the night was the squid ink conchiglie pasta with shrimp, which I also thoroughly enjoyed, and I can also vouch for the crispy oysters and milk bread. New top spot in the Charlotte area for me. If you're in the greater Charlotte area, you need to go to Kindred.
