Based largely on the reviews on here, I've been wanting to try Kindred for awhile now. When we heard about Davidson's Christmas festival, my wife and I figured we'd check that out, then grab dinner at Kindred. The Christmas fair was great, but our dining experience at Kindred was definitely the highlight of the night. My wife and I split several dishes, all of which were very good, but I think my two favorites were the country ham ravioli dish (which is in a separate post) and this smoked squash. This dish was unlike anything I've had before. The smoke on the vegetable itself added something special, the mornay sauce in the "pit" was super creamy, and the curry cashews added a nice bit of texture. Again, you cannot go wrong here. My wife's favorite of the night was the squid ink conchiglie pasta with shrimp, which I also thoroughly enjoyed, and I can also vouch for the crispy oysters and milk bread. New top spot in the Charlotte area for me. If you're in the greater Charlotte area, you need to go to Kindred.
