Burmese Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup at Bee Bee's in Monterey Park, CA. I've been fortunate to have gone to a lot of great restaurants around the world - everything from hole in the walls to fine dining in over 25 different countries. But if I was on my death bed and I had to pick ONE place in the entire world to have my last meal, this place would be it! It serves Burmese food (my ethnicity) and is the epitome of an authentic hole in the wall. Burmese food is a combination of Thai, Chinese, and Indian food. Bee Bee's is run by an older Burmese couple (Jimmy and Bee Bee) at their house and they serve food from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekends. You will literally feel like you are in SE Asia. I've sent a lot of people there (including NBA people and sports agents) and they've all loved it. This particular dish (called Ono Kau Swe in Burmese) is a common Burmese dish with coconut milk, noodles, and chicken. Bee Bee's version is terrific, with outstanding flavor and the broth not too thick and not too thin. I love this place so much that Bee Bee cooks for me, freezes it, then overnights it to me on dry ice all the way to Charlotte!
