Was in Asheville this weekend so had to grab dinner at HomeGrown. My wife and I shared the fried chicken biscuit dish and the redneck pot pie. The chicken that I and many on here have reviewed in the past is one of the best dishes I've had in recent memory, but the pot pie is great in its own right. The base of the dish is super creamy cheese grits, which are so smooth they are almost like mashed potatoes. Then those are topped with shredded BBQ chicken, which is tender and vinegar-y. We sprinkled on some spicy BBQ sauce as well which added some nice heat. All that is topped with a biscuit, which sops up all the goodness below it. Definitely worth getting if you're at HomeGrown.
