12/30/17 There's a reason the line at YAFO kitchen snakes out the door during lunchtime, 7 days a week: the Marrakesh Lamb Bowl is one of them. The first thing you notice at YAFO is that everything is made in-house, from the tasty Laffah bread to the hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel, and meats. The Lamb bowl succeeds at combining zesty marinated lamb over a bed of rice and hummus with fresh vegetables that are simple yet a perfect compliment to the meat itself. There's a reason I've ordered this dish at least 15 times over the past year, there is nothing fresher in town! The fast-casual ethnic concept has taken off and YAFO Kitchen has carved out a successful niche for itself in little more than a year's time by offering some of tastiest Mediterranean fare in Charlotte. Israeli-born head chef Shai Farigan succeeds at replicating the street food one would buy in the bustling port of Yafo in his native land. During my visit today. he was handing out falafel samples to everyone in line which shows his extreme attention to detail :). Overall, If you want fast casual food but don't want the typical fried fare, YAFO Kitchen is worth exploring (and the line is worth the wait!). *Rich, please add an Israeli flag above
