Burrito lovers, if you want a big time burrito, Jefe’s Taco Shop is a must. True authentic Mexican style food located inside a small gas station in the Northern Las Vegas area, distanced far away from The Strip. First off, I must mention on their customer service which is an A+. The staff here were so friendly chatty (huge difference from annoying chatty), they really know how to greet/treat their customers. Once arrived, they were having some kitchen issues and said it’d be another 45 minutes to an hour until their grill would be back up and running. After driving 35 minutes for this special burrito, I along with Jefe’s friendly staff convinced myself that it would be worth the wait, and worth the wait it was. I parked it down at a tiny table inside the gas station and waited with free beverages on them due to the inconvenience/wait. They did a great job of hyping up my burrito as well, not that I needed it l because I had just finished working out and felt quite famished. I went big and ordered Jefe’s Burrito consisting of – shrimp, carne asada, pollo asado, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa fresca. You may add rice + beans to any burrito at no extra charge. Boy, was thing big time. Easily one of the best burritos I’ve ever received. Hot and juicy, all three forms of protein + the guacamole were a great blend inside the warm toasty tortilla. To top off the entire experience, I even got to meet Jefe, the owner, who brought my burrito out to me. Awesome guy with a good sense of humor. Not only was the food wonderful, but the staff/service as well makes you want to re-visit. I must try their tacos next. If you ever want a satisfying burrito with some good local company and don’t mind being inside a low-key gas station, Jefe’s won’t disappoint. Insider tip: They have three flat screen TV’s displaying their menu items directly above their cash register. If all three TV Screens match and show the same menu item picture (if all planets align), you get a free meal of your choice. Jackpot!
