I'm usually not too keen on eating raw fish in a landlocked area, especially at a place in an older, nondescript strip mall, so when this fast/casual spot opened up not too far from me I figured I might try the bulgogi or chicken bowls. But when I went inside, the space was very bright, modern, and clean, and the fish looked very fresh, so I opted for the King Wicked Tuna poke bowl. I was intrigued by the Flamin Hot Cheetos in the dish description, so that pushed me over the edge when I was choosing what to order. The base of the bowl is rice, topped with the fresh, meaty tuna (you can't see either in the pic given the generous helpings of all the toppings). Toppings include cucumber, avocado, seaweed, daikon, onions, and a dusting of Flamin Hots, then a splash of ponzu on top. There were great contrasts in flavors (sweet daikon, spicy Cheetos, salty ponzu, cool cucumbers, rich tuna) and textures (creamy advocado, crisp seaweed, crunchy daikon and onions, meaty tuna). All told, this place is perfect for a quick, fresh lunch.
