Chez Panisse is an absolutely iconic restaurant as it can essentially be credited for beginning the farm-to-table movement in the USA. I was lucky enough to fit it into my schedule on a recent trip to the Bay Area. It was my first time at the storied establishment and it did not disappoint! The menu changes incredibly frequently, so I wasn’t sure what to expect...but to no one’s surprise, everything we tried was terrific. My favorite part of the meal - other than the cool ambiance - was this chicken dish. The breast was cooked to perfection, and prepared with fried onions, carrots, lime, curry butter. This dish was bursting at the seams with flavor, mostly generated by the curry butter and lime playing off each other, while the fried onions and carrots brought some nice crunch to every bite. Altogether, it was a wonderful meal and experience. Whether you’re a foodie or not, everyone should make the pilgrimage to this bigtime spot!
