12/29/17 In my little home town that you've never heard of lies a used car lot. I know, very unique. But, attached to this used car lot/tow yard is my favorite BBQ spot. Yep, that's a small country town for ya. Knuckle Suckers started out as a guy doing BBQ for competitions. Then, he decided to sell some of that BBQ on Saturdays and Sundays. Very quickly that expanded to Fridays, and now even on Thursdays. Having had to abstain from BBQ due to being surrounded by NC BBQ for the past few months, I had to treat myself while I was home for the holidays. The sausage is great; I'm not a huge fan of BBQ sausage, but Knuckle Suckers makes a great spicy and flavorful one. Their pulled pork is sweet and well cooked. But the brisket is fantastic. Juicy, super tender, and very flavorful; you can immediately see why they do competitions with this stuff. You can eat it on its own, or throw it on the Hawaiian bread roll they give to you and make a little brisket sandwich. My favorite thing on this plate, though, is my favorite BBQ bite of all time. I have yet to have something I'd put up against these ribs. They're so tender that sometimes you can just pull the bone out without keeping any meat on it. And there's never any meat left on the bone. They have the most tender and juicy ribs I've ever eaten in my life and topped with a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce that makes my mouth water just typing about it. This is a little spot, but the bites are Bigtime. I hope that you get the chance to experience this one day, because it holds a strong spot in my stomach and at the top of my BBQ list. Be warned: They're typically open 11-5, but they tend to sell out around 1 most days. Order ahead, it's definitely worth it.
