Pork Bolognese at 404 Kitchen in Nashville, TN. I love a good Bolognese and this version at 404 was absolutely terrific. I'm not an expert on Italian food by any means, but for me, a good Bolognese starts with the pasta and the fracatelli (a pasta with a gnocchi-like texture) they used was fantastic!! As a carnivorous eater, I don't like when places skimp on the meat, and the pork here was both tasty and plentiful. The pork was accompanied with a flavorful sauce made of San Marzano tomatoes (type of Heirloom tomato), along with fresh basil, and grana padano cheese (a crumbly cheese similar to Parmesan). First time at 404 Kitchen and it's definitely the best restaurant I went to while in Nashville for a couple days. I would characterize their cuisine as Contemporary American with a little European mixed in. They have terrific ingredients and grow veggies in their rooftop garden. Small, intimate place with great service and both indoor and outdoor seating. Open for dinner only.
