Pastrami Dip Sandwich at The Hat in Alhambra, CA. Roughly ten years ago I drove by The Hat and saw a big sign that boldly claimed "World's Best Pastrami Sandwich." Needless to say, I had to check it out! Ten years and about 100 sandwiches later, I still religiously come here when in the LA area. It's a hole in the wall with several locations, but it has almost a cult following and is always busy. I'm not a big sandwich (or bread) guy, but I LOVE this Pastrami Dip. The meat is delicious, and they give PLENTY of it, as you can see by the picture. The bread and meat are both dipped in an aus jus, making it nice and warm with plenty of flavor. Open since 1951 with eleven locations in the LA area - some with drive thru windows and some open as late as 1:00 a.m. If you like pastrami, this is a definite must try when in the LA area!
