When I found out my dinner party was going to Heartwood Provisions a place that had been on my list to try, I had every intention of potentially reviewing my entree. However, I was blown away by my appetizer. While my entree was good it wasn’t Bigtime Bites All-Star status like my appetizer.
The Original Provision is a waygu beef jerky with sesame, served warm in a SPICY chili preserve. Initially when I saw the words beef jerky I thought this was going to be really tough however, my knife cut though it easily. It melts in your mouth & basically punches you in the face but in a good way - packed with flavor.
While the restaurant is billed as contemporary American, you definitely can taste Chef Keokitvon’s Loation héritage and this signature appetizer is a perfect mix.
