Pappardelle Bolognese at Zinicola in Charlotte, NC. I love a good, hearty, bolognese pasta, and I almost always order it as a second entree when I’m at an Italian joint. I enjoy seeing the different ways bolognese is prepared, as the sauce, meat, pasta, and herbs & spices all vary from one place to another. I ordered Zinicola’s pappardelle bolognese along with my flounder entree, and it didn’t disappoint. A generous portion (you can order a smaller version if you’d like) of veal and beef topped the house-made pappardelle. The meat to pasta as well as the meat to sauce ratio was on point, and I loved the flavor and consistency of the tomato-based sauce - not too thick, yet not so thin that it was runny at all. Zinicola is a newer Italian restaurant in South Charlotte with a unique indoor/outdoor bar area, a diverse menu, and attentive, personal service.
