Super Mega Bien is an awesome spot attached to a hip boutique hotel in Denver's RiNo neighborhood, just north of the heart of Downtown. SMB melds a Latin American with Chinese dim sum. Waiters carry around trays that you can pick small plates off of - we went with ropa vieja (Cuban braised beef), stuffed peppers, and ceviche, and all of them were solid and probably rotation quality. SMB also does a few larger dishes, including this roasted duck. Reminiscent of Peking duck, this bird was coated in a tangy chipotle honey glaze. In the perfect bite, you get that sweet and sour sauce, crispy skin, a little bit of fat, and tender and salty meat. Tough to beat. It comes with a crunchy slaw to brighten and lighten things up, as well as a couple gordita shells that serve as a pretty good vehicle for getting the food into your mouth. There is also extra sauce provided, but I'd go easy on adding extra sauce - it is very good as a glaze but could be over-powering if you completely douse a bite. My wife and I also got a pitcher of their green sangria, which was really unique. It tastes like a boozy version of something you'd get at a high end juice bar (in a good way) and was extremely refreshing. All told, SMB is well worth a stop if you're in Denver and want to explore a funky neighborhood.
