Shrimp Curry at Saffron Indian Cuisine in Charlotte, NC. It’s been a while since I’ve had a great shrimp curry dish, but Saffron’s version was so good that I returned the following week and had the exact same meal. Ten medium-sized shrimp are served with a terrific home-made, tomato-based curry sauce consisting of garlic, ginger, turmeric, onions, black pepper, coriander, and Indian herbs. The shrimp was tender and perfectly cooked. I loved the consistency and texture of the curry sauce - not so thin that it’s too watery or runny and not so thick with corn starch that it makes you feel bloated at the end of your meal. Saffron has a huge menu, serving primarily traditional Northern Indian cuisine. Friendly and knowledgeable service (Kumar was my server both times I was there and he was excellent). I also loved their Mulligatawny Soup. I’ll be back for this dish and to try more dishes!
