Dee-rish-ish almond cake from Sunflour. Soft sponge cake layered with almond cream and topped with candied toasted almonds. Upon first bite, my tastebuds took me back in time allowing me to reflect on all the Honey Bunches of Oats I used to have with 2% milk in the mornings before getting on the school bus. The amount of candied toasted almonds plastered on this cake will make you reminisce on the cereal that was in your cupboard during childhood. The description says “soft” sponge cake, but my breading was a bit on the harder side. Might of caught the batch that’s been sitting out all day, but I can imagine how much more big time this would of been freshly baked. Have to adore the flavor and how it wasn’t overpoweringly sweet. 8/10.
