Not your ordinary croissants. Burney’s specializes in these mouthwatering treats. Before coming here, I’ve never seen croissants as a dessert. These taste like high quality donuts. You can opt to get them filled or just enjoy a regular glazed. I’m all in on the fillings, especially cream cheese and buttercream. They have so many filling options from Bavarian, chocolate buttercream, lemon, apple, strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry. Biting into these light/airy/crispy croissants will be a shock if you’re accustomed to the plain buttered bready croissants from your bakery. The sweet glaze changes the game. The origin of this croissant dates from back in the day when the current owner of Burney’s worked in a bakery under Mr. Burney and a customer came in suggesting that he should fry a croissant first, then coat it with a glaze. Ever since then, this big time croissant has been blessing sweet tooth’s and now it’s one of my favorite treats in town. This is a delightful desserts spot. I love how the owner paid homage to Mr. Burney by naming the shop after him. Skip the donuts and take a dozen or two of these into the office and you’ll have one happy break room. Pro-tip: for the ultimate mouthwatering experience, try to get them warm and fresh.
