Part of the Signature Tasting menu (Omakase) in one of Houston's top sushi places, this dish was the perfect starter for us to awaken the palate. Buttery yellowtail sashimi pieces were laid on top of orange supremes and sprinkled with wafer thin Thai chili rounds. The whole dish was then blanketed with a citrus ponzu, giving the whole presentation an elegant and beautiful look. You get the umami of the velvety fish, the sweet of the orange, the salt and sour of the ponzu, and the heat of the chili all working together to get your entire tongue ready for the culinary journey that you are embarking on. You definitely feel like you're the least hip person while in the space, but the food ushers you into the club and says, "Just relax and enjoy." Wait staff are extremely friendly and personable, and they really want you to have a great experience. We had 7 courses total, but this was one of the most memorable because it welcomes you into the experience, and tells you that the food you are about to have will be on a different level.
