This was my first burger experience at the well-known Hops Burger Bar. What better way to tip off with my first big time write up/scouting report. Went with a custom - build your own burger containing: lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, fried egg (got to have an egg on your cheeseburger), and melted swish cheese. Cooked medium with certified angus beef, I wanted to create a messy - "get your hands dirty", cheeseburger. With the grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms, I had to eat this with my palms facing up, so the ingredients wouldn't fall apart. The patty was so soft, it melted inside each bite. An egg is a must and it was the perfect enhancement on this burger. Hops absolutely lived up to all the hype with the countless reviews/raves/recommendations.
