Steak Tartare at Rugby Grille in Birmingham, MI. Steak tartare is served a multitude of ways these days with a variety of ingredients. As both a steak lover and raw food connoisseur, I’ve had many different versions, so most of the time when I have it, it doesn’t “wow” me. Rugby Grille’s version is seriously Bigtime though, and will leave you saying “wow,” as it’s definitely one of the better steak tartare dishes I’ve had. The ultra fresh USDA prime tenderloin is prepared tableside with parsley, onions, dijon mustard, olive oil, slivers of mushroom, egg yolk, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco sauce. Paired with thin slices of toasted bread, the quality of the meat along with some of the unique accompaniments make this tartare a special dish. Rugby Grille is located in the Townsend Hotel and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as late night after games.
