Magnolia Bakery, a New York City staple, is famous for its cupcakes - but any repeat customer knows not to stop there. Trying the red velvet cheesecake (or any of their cheesecake offerings really) is a first-class experience. The cheesecakes are cupcake-sized, but are so decadent that they can easily be shared. The red velvet cheesecake, specifically, was the perfect consistency. Light but rich, sweet but a touch sour, this was a treat that I’ll be sure to return to each time I visit Chicago or New York.
