The Bun shop is a cool little restaurant near the corner of Western and Beverly in LA. I stopped by for a couple of bao buns and the Kalbi was hands down my favorite. This bun has some great, tender braised beef, fresh greens, and a subtly spicy sriracha aioli. But what made this dish stand out for me was the crispy fried onion petal that is put on top of it all. The onion adds texture to the spongy bun and soft meat, as well as a sweetness to go with the saltiness of the meat and slight spiciness of the mayo. This was a great little bao bun, and there were a ton of others that looked good on the menu that I'll have to try next time too.
